### Notes
Main folders he recommends:
Daily
Fleeting
References / Literature
Projects
Zettelkasten
Permanent
*Daily / Fleeting folder* - he has these listed as one. Daily is how I have it set up now. But he thinks fleeting notes should also be stored in this folder until ready to be deleted.
*Fleeting notes* are meant to be temporary, figure out what is important and how to add it elsewhere.
---
*Literature folder* - a way to not feel overwhelmed when translating everything we've learned to a Permanent note.
This would include a note that you've written in your own words and the page number it refers to. [^1]
- Example:
---
*Projects folder* is everything related to a project.
I think that each of the notes in here could be Index notes that link to all the related ideas.
*Zettelkasten / Slip box folder* - essentially should contain *atomic* notes that are permanent but contain an amount of information only related to a single topic or bit of information. [^2]
> "That’s what is meant by the phrase “atomic” note. Permanent means it's kept forever, but it also means it's permanently understood. Permanent slip-box notes will become your external storage for long-term memory."
- Example:
Filing something into the slipbox requires first:
- relating it to other notes
- connecting and linking to references
- Finding where to add it to an index
*Permanent notes* are the result of our own thinking.
- This would likely be long-form articles that relate a number of atomic notes together.
*Structure notes* are like indexes that help relate ideas on a topic:
- Permanent notes that relate
- Note sequence - Zet ID numbered notes of what came before and after (not sure I agree with this)
So in his view you would create a named note that links to all the ZetID-numbered notes that relate.
- Example

I don't love this because I think that the numbers mean nothing in the graph view, which is intended to make it *easy* to find related ideas.
Though I like the idea of using structured notes in the Projects folder to relate a number of notes/ideas.
Some steps I could take:
- Come up with Project topics as index for note topics ("Job Interviews")
- Each Fleeting note should follow a process:
- Relate to other notes: add to project or find 2-3 related notes
- Add references
- Make sure that it's linking to the correct index
- Maybe consider linking to notes that came before and after in the sequence
- If that can't be done, delete or add to another note
- Once that's done, add as a Permanent note in Zettelkasten
- Add Permanent folder - This should ONLY include fleshed out ideas built from Slip Box notes.
- Permanent folder can have a structure, I think.
- All "Information" notes existing should be added here if possible.
Temporary structure to consider
+ Inbox (Fleeting)
+ Kanban (project-related)
+ Daily Notes
+ References (Literature)
+ Permanent
+ Projects
+ Zettelkasten (atomic notes)
Removed
- Categories - never use this
- Information - add to Permanent
- Templates - might want to consider just adding to Permanent/Info
